Ya Mon!

We arrived in Jamaica yesterday about noon. The resort is beautiful! Our butlers, Carlene and Aundrea are amazing. They take all the planning and decision-making out of vacationing and anticipate our needs before we know we need/want it. We are continually surprised by little gifts like flowers and food plates that show up in the room. I never knew planning a wedding could be so easy. We spent about 30 minutes with our coordinator, and she took care of the rest. We are getting married tomorrow afternoon in a beachside gazebo. We're quickly learning the language of Jamaica...Ya Mon!

Our Story

Todd and Sarah met at New Spring Church in Wichita, KS. They were introduced through mutual friends, and often enjoyed dining out with the group on Sundays after church. On January 27, 2008, Sarah's got the bad news from the animal hospital that her black lab had to be put to sleep. The strong, independent woman Sarah had grown to be had just crumbled on the exam room floor. The nurses put Cooper's lifeless body in a burial box so she could take him to Oxford and bury him on her parent's farm. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) it would not fit in the back of her car. So, she had to call upon a knight in shining armour to help pick up the pieces. God blessed her by sending Todd. Not only was Todd exactly what she needed in that tragic situation, he was the one she had been praying for. They were tailor made by God for each other.

Todd and I are planning a secret, intimate wedding at the serene Sandals Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Due to our excitement about the engagement, it has been difficult for us to keep this a secret from everyone for so long. We really wanted you all to be surprised. Girls, I'm sure you can imagine getting a boulder of a diamond and not being able to wear it!

I am delighted to avoid all the stress, planning, and decision-making involved in a traditional wedding. We apologize to those of you who would have liked to attend the wedding, and we would love to extend an invitation to help us celebrate when we return.

Our plane departs Tuesday, July 7. Upon our arrival, our personal butler will take care of our every whim. Wednesday, we will be busy going over the final arrangements with our wedding coordinator. I will marry my best friend Thursday, July 9th. The next few days we will relax and explore the beautiful island. We are scheduled to land late Tuesday, July 14. Do to limited email access, please don't expect pictures to be posted until we return.
